Rope Cable or Rope Wire - Strands of Wires

Rope Cable also popularly known as rope wire is a strands of wires or ropes. This cable is manufactured by the grouping or stranding of ropes or wires to give strength to the cable. In a rope cable, you will find strands of wires or ropes and again in the small wire, you will find strands of smaller wires.

The construction of rope wire is peculiar in order to give strength to the rope or cable. This type of cable is used in the construction work and therefore it is in the application type of cable. You will find the application of rope cable in huge machinery like cranes, elevator, trams and other heavy machines.

The rope cable can be put under two categories:

1. Left hand lay
2. Right hand lay

The left hand lay and the right hand lay of rope cable are categorized according to the manner in which the strands are laid to form the rope. In left hand lay, the strands appear to be left hand direction or anti-clockwise but in right hand lay it is just the opposite; the strands appear to be right or clockwise direction.
